Biomimetic Functional Surfaces and Wearable Sensing Materials

This National Key R&D Program of China International Cooperation Project is led by Professor Yan Liu at Jilin University. The project focuses on frontier research areas including biomimetic functional interfaces, intelligent wearable sensing, and human–machine interactive materials. Inspired by natural mechanisms such as wettability regulation, directional liquid transport, and multiscale interfacial structures, the project aims to extract bioinspired design principles and develop biomimetic sensing materials and devices with flexible conformability, stable sampling capability, and high-sensitivity detection performance. The related research provides new biomimetic design strategies and technological foundations for health monitoring, flexible electronics, and intelligent sensing systems.
