  • Textbooks:《Introduction of Bionics》

This book systematically elaborates on the basic concepts, fundamental theories, classification principles, research methods, and technical frameworks of bionics. It showcases the unique appeal of bionics as a frontier interdisciplinary field through numerous up-to-date research cases from China and abroad.

Key Features: The book is renowned for being systematic, cutting-edge, innovative, and engaging. It not only clarifies the essence and developmental logic of bionics but also provides a profound explanation of the fundamental principle that "nature is the teacher of humanity" through comparative analysis between humans and biological systems.

Content Scope: The 14 chapters cover basic concepts, classifications, and essential elements of bionics, analyses of perception, control, and response relationships between humans and organisms, as well as the fundamental principles, tenets, and main research methodologies and technologies of bionics.

Educational Application: This book is a classic introductory text for learning bionics. It serves as the designated textbook for the well-known MOOC "Bionics: Learning from Nature" offered by Jilin University, with its 34 video lectures closely aligned with the textbook content, effectively supporting bionics education.

  • Textbooks:《Coupling Bionics》

"Strange Bionics" is a core general education course supported by the International Academy of Bionic Science (IABS), offered by Jilin University and recognized as a national-level top quality online open course. This course aims to systematically elucidate the core value of bionics as an emerging interdisciplinary field—"learning from nature"—by drawing inspiration from the natural world to stimulate technological innovation and advance human civilization. Designed for undergraduate students across all majors, the course employs rich visual materials, video animations, and case studies to help students grasp the fundamentals of bionics and understand its broad applications in fields such as military technology, materials science, mechanical engineering, sports, and architecture, thereby fostering innovative thinking and interdisciplinary problem-solving skills.
The curriculum comprehensively covers the development history, research methodologies, and cutting-edge applications of bionics, including topics such as the origins of bionics, innovative methods from biological analysis to physical modeling, military bionic strategies and equipment, natural biomaterials and bioinspired interface materials, principles of bionic architecture, insect-inspired mechanisms, and artificial organs and tissues. Since its initial launch in 2015, the course has attracted over 200,000 enrolled students from more than 400 universities worldwide, establishing itself as a vital platform for the dissemination of bionic knowledge and talent cultivation.
Through this course, students will gain an in-depth understanding of bionics as a "driving force for original innovation in the new century," learning how to draw inspiration from the structures and functions of biological systems and translate these insights into sustainable technological solutions to address global challenges.
